iT House
Off-the-shelf glass and aluminum structure kit house
We've had a little dryspell in our prefab news, but the drought is over... more prefab for you junkies.

Designed by Los Angeles area architects Linda Taalman and Alan Koch, the concept is a high design, customized (with funky outFiTs) 1000 square foot kit house that takes only 8 weeks to construct. "The iT house is made up of a series of off-the-shelf parts which are internationally distributed by industry partners or locally available as typical standard construction." Two houses have been commissioned and will be build this year.

The kit includes radiant heat "smart floor," Bosch aluminum structure, insulated glass walls, plywood laminate cabinets, Bulthaup Kitchen workbench and accessories, insulated steel roof, solar power assistance, and 3M graphic vinyl outFiTs (described below).

Taalman & Koch are working in collaboration with a range of graphic artists to produce a series of ‘outfiTs’ that offer the consumer the ability to customize their space in terms of aesthetics, privacy and solar control. Current outfiT contributors include Barbara Bestor, Kevin Hanley, Jim Isermann, Kathleen Johnson, Mitchell Kane, Soo Kim & Michael Worthington, Sarah Morris & Liam Gillick, Yunhee Min, Renee Petropoulos, Purtill Family Business, David Schafer, and JR Schuler.

This is the coolest modern home I've seen. Do you have a plan with 3-4 bedroom for a family?

CE Lifestyles
I really like the layout of this house. It reminds me of something that would be featured in CE Lifestyles, a new magazine I've been reading. They showcase lots of cutting edge gadgets for the home. Anyway, great design!

Im a visual communications lecturer at Wimbledon school of art in London and am trying to create a large variety of work to help and inspire my students, and so they can see whats going on currently in the design world. So was hoping you would be so kind as to send me any sort of leaflets, booklets, brochures that you have worked on. It would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much for you time J.Burton 157, Waldegrave Rd Teddington Middx TW11 8LU England
