The Dutch firm Heneghan Peng Architects ("peng" is the equivalent of "pow" in German...) have proposed a bridge design in the famous Lorelei Valley, a site of German mythology, which among other things inspired Richard Wagner to write the "Ring" cycle. Now UNESCO is looking into revoking the world heritage status if this project is to go forward... BANG!

Congrats to McGregor+Partners of Sydney, Australia, for being honored with the biennial Topos Landscape Award. The firm, run by Adrian McGregor and Philip Coxall, will change its name to McGregor + Coxall on the date of the award ceremony. Their work will be documented in Topos 67, due out on 20 June 2009.
