Skateboards AND Modernist Furniture combined... woah!
Can we assume to all agree on the premise that skateboards are cool, and that the act of skateboarding is even cooler? And Eames furniture, veeery cool indeed, right? So, if everyone at any design school knows about these icons of coolness, then how come nobody has come up with combining the two until now?! Shame on all of you!

We salute Tony Larson from Agents of the Area, who has managed to design some decks within his Girl Skateboards line that will thrash your hearts out. He even managed to throw on some Roadside Architecture, or Venturi's duck, if you may. Design geeks in the black and grey uniforms now can get a skateboard that does not clash!

Any idea at all on where to actually purchase? I have looked all over online skateboard shops and sent an email to the designer with no response...yet.

These decks were release about five years ago. They are now collectors items. You may try Board Gallery in Venice CA, or on Ebay. I dont know anyone who would part with theirs any time soon! good luck.

Note: i saw the title on the link-up on We Make Money Not Art "SKATES FOR GIRLS." Girl Skateboards is not a company for women, it's more of an abstraction. Girl, along with the brother company Chocolate, is probably one of the most coveted companies in the skateboard industry. All of the artist involved with Girl/Choc are hammers. I personally collect a bit of Chocolate stuff. I agree with bcd, try ebay...also have a look at both www.chocolateskateboards.com and www.evanhecox.com and www.bendpress.com for some of the other artists that work under the Diamond Distribution roof. BTW, I don't work for them...just a fan and fellow designer in the industry. P!

The chair thing is iconic - think Mies and Corbusier...delectable chair design from top notch architects of their time. Why shouldn't it be celerated in the cool form of gurl skateboards?

i must say... the design concept on these boards are amazing. clean simple and whatnot. different from an average skateboard brand... i do collect different series of girl skateboards for their artwork.. their ideas for every series is clean simple straight forward and artistic!

Any skater should be able to appreciate the modern chair series because Ray and Charles Eames are actualy responsible for some of technological developments still used for laminating skateboard decks. The chair on Koston's deck used the same process of wood lamination and was equaly as durable as skateboards are today.

girl skateboard are the dopest skateboard company in the industry bringing art and design whit a crew of artist call THE ART DUMP,they released that board collection a couple of years ago for the 25th anniversary of Charles Eames death....if someone got board from that collection and want to sell it,im your dude, www.myspace.com/robindery peace!!!

duh, let me educate you here. charles and ray eames are responsible for the bent plywood technology that make skate decks what they are today. not just lamination but the wood bonding process. the chairs the designed are also creations of the same.
