Mid-century Catalan architect

Some of you may recall the contest that DWR was holding to identify the architect of a modern home last month.

The veil has been lifted, and the author has been revealed as Barcelona-born architect José Antonio Coderch (1913–1984), one of the most prominent post-war architects working in Spain.

Oh, and by the way... I didn't win with my shot-in-the-dark guess of Mexican architect Juan O'Gorman. But at least I didn't think it was Wright, Barragán, Neutra or Siza like many others apparently did. I wouldn't say that any of those architects qualify as "lesser-known" with the exception of Wright... but what do I know.

Apparently I was one of the first twenty people to properly indentify the DWR Contest; however, I didn't give the name of the architect, only the location of the house (that was the option), I answered that it was located "about 40 miles outside of Barcelona, Spain." I did receive help from a friend/colleage, an architect here in our office Andrew Duncan, who has an incredible library of architecture books. Thanks again Andy!
